Metric Nomenclature System for Chemical Elements

The Metric Nomenclature System for Chemical Elements replaces arbitrary ("legacy") names and symbols for chemical elements with systematically determined notation.

Under this metric system, chemical element names and symbols follow a mathematically regular pattern, counting protons in base 25 and using letters as numerical digits. The table below provides a full listing of the elements by atomic number, metric name, and metric symbol.

A good notation has a subtlety and suggestiveness which at times make it almost seem like a live teacher. ~ Bertrand Russell
